Singers With an Acting Career, Some Successful Some Not So Much

Jessica Simpson Attended the Chuck Norris School of Acting

Jessica Simpson loves the spotlight. She spent most of her career in front of a camera, and as a child, she auditioned for The Mickey Mouse Club. She made it to finals before producers told her to get acting lessons. She listened and visited Chuck Norris. “I was destined to get a Razzie,” she later told Jimmy Kimmel Live!

After several successful albums, Simpsons made her cinema debut in 2005, with her role in Dukes of Hazzard. Let’s just say she fulfilled her destiny of earning a few Razzie nominations. One year later, she appeared in Employee of the Month, which didn’t receive the best reviews. The girl is certainly determined and tried again with Blonde Ambition in 2007. Only 48 people watched it opening day, and the $384 one-day-told was “one of the lowest-grossing theatrical films ever,” according to The New York Times. Yikes! She should just stick to singing.
