On June 25th, 1956, Anthony Michael Bourdain was born in Manhattan, New York. Gladys, a New York Times editor (from whom we could say Anthony picked up his writing skills) and his father, Pierre, a New York camera store salesman, were his ‘seemingly-sufficient’ parents.

In his book, Anthony stated he was never deprived of affection or care as a child. He emphasized that his parents were responsible and intentional. Although, a chronic drug addiction that started from his teenage years, which must have come from somewhere, could be indicating otherwise.
