Photographer Tracked Down Prior Muses to Recapture the Moment

Railway Kiss (1980 and 2009)

Here’s one for the romantics. Tony Wilmot was captured saying goodbye to his then-girlfriend Sally at the Peterborough Railway Station in 1980. The following year, they got married. Tony was only 22 at the time and working in Essex as a teacher. Sally was 21 and worked in Stafford as a local government officer.

On this day, they met up in Peterborough but had no idea that the photo was even taken. It popped up over 30 years later in a local newspaper, the Peterborough Evening Telegraph. It was seen by Tony’s father. The couple, who are now both teachers and live in Lichfield, Staffordshire, have two kids, Tom and Jenny, who are in their 20s now.
