The Pandemic Troubles Hit
When faced with a stressful situation such as an infectious disease outbreak, everyone reacts differently. It’s perfectly normal to feel a variety of emotions. As we all know, the pandemic has affected many people in various ways, and the American Idol winner is no exception. Clarkson talked about how difficult 2020 had been, saying that it was “challenging, overwhelming, and sometimes it feels like hope has been lost.”

An interview conducted just before the announcement suggested that things in the Clarkson-Blackstock household were not going well. The Voice coach spoke with the magazine show Glamour Unfiltered in June 2020 about spending time with her family during lockdown. And it was clear that she was a little frazzled after the interviewer asked, “How are you coping right now?”
