Britney Spears: Crossroads
Back in 2002, Britney Spears was at the height of her career. The girl was on fire. She had a chart-topping album, an incredible deal with Pepsi, and Forbes called her the most powerful celebrity. To capitalize on her popularity, it made for her to star in a movie. She landed the lead in Crossroads, and her acting was actually better than expected.
However, the singer’s acting did seem a little forced. “It’s a little eerie how machinelike Ms. Spears often appears,” according to the New York Times. “Although she is obviously a human being, her looks, singing, dancing, and acting all suggest computerized composite of some people’s idea of the post-teenage American girl.” I personally loved Crossroads, but now I know why Britney never acted again.
