This is a burger business that adheres to tradition creatively. In 1977, Chris Madrid, then a recent college graduate, launched this family-owned namesake restaurant and built it into one of Texas’ most famous burger stalwarts. He passed away in 2012, but his legacy lives on in the shape of the never-ending lines of people waiting for a macho-sized burger (Chris Madrid’s term for “big”).
